Whether it is preservice or a part of your yearlong Professional Development offerings, we would be thrilled to be the first ones who come to mind for all things student services.
Our students with diverse learning needs can easily receive the message that we don’t believe in their ability to meet high expectations. This can have a lifelong effect on their educational and post-secondary lives. This session will help teachers avoid sending this message but instead maintain high expectations while differentiating, scaffolding and accommodating so that our students with diverse learning needs can experience academic success. (1.5-2 hours)

Universal Design for Learning is a planning framework that supports teachers in designing lessons for students with a variety of needs. Participants will learn about UDL and the benefits of using the framework in their lesson planning while also gathering concrete planning strategies that will make their lesson planning with this framework sustainable and effective. How do you know your students are engaged? We often have misconceptions about student engagement or we lack the ability to truly assess the level of engagement in our classrooms. Participants will learn about the 3 different facets of student engagement, how to assess engagement, & strategies that have demonstrated increased engagement in a cohort of 13 Colorado schools.(1.5 hours)

The Collaborative believes that a school should develop their diverse learner programming by considering their students' and staff needs while also aligning to their mission, vision, and model. To provide this customized support, we love to partner with you to build school specific systems, process, and tools and then provide customized training and implementation coaching to ensure you stick to the plan you have developed.
Our favorite work is helping build strong, inclusive special education programming that lives throughout the school! Through strategic planning, professional development, and implementation coaching we consider the need for a shared belief and mindset, the need for communication and planning structures, the need for skill development to ensure access to General Education content, and the need for quality indicators and coaching practices for both in class support and pull-out instruction.
Building school culture that supports a wide range of needs and empowers teachers with tools and strategies to address challenging behaviors doesn't happen overnight. Having expert guidance as you build research based culture components, data analysis and decision-making, and systems for escalating behavioral support ensures that you successfully create a schoolwide culture inclusive, supportive, and responsive to the needs in your building.
The best way to ensure that you are working on the right things is through a review process. Collaborative reviews help schools identify their strengths ad areas for growth and then provide recommendations, strategic planning, implementation coaching, and training and resources to ensure they are effectively working towards identified student/school needs and outcomes.
The Inclusive Practices Walkthrough creates an opportunity to look at current mindsets, practices, and programming to determine the level of inclusivity and equitable access afforded to their diverse learners. Through the use of interviews, observations, review of existing plans and data, the school receives a thorough picture of their programming strengths, opportunities to improve, and recommendations for continuous improvement. *Price varies by school size and travel costs.
The Special Populations Audit is a review of compliance indicators required by the Colorado Department of Education for a specific diverse learner population (e.g. Students with Disabilities, Gifted & Talented, English La. Through interviews, observations, review of plans and data, the school receives a thorough picture of their strengths, liability risk, and opportunities and recommendations for continuous improvement. *Price varies by school size, populations being reviewed, & travel costs.
Schools receive a thorough picture of their programming strengths, gaps, and barriers that could be contributing to low special education enrollment numbers through the use of interviews, observations, a school website review, handbook and policies evaluation, and an examination of existing plans and data. *Price varies by size of school and travel costs.

Through the use of the Art of Coaching by Elena Aquilar, we leverage research-based strategies to increase the teachers effectiveness and improve student outcomes both academically and behaviorally. *Pricing varies by size of school and travel costs.
Using PBIS and restorative practices, we can support schools who are stuggling to support student behaviors across the school or in a single classroom. Leveraging observations, data collection, and review of student needs and teacher skills, we provide coaching on classroom management, redirecting and de-escalating student behaviors, and managing crisis level behaviors. We can also provide direct support in completing Functional Behavioral Analysis and Behavior Plans for students.
